During these first few months of life, the primary goal of the caregiver is to create a loving, safe and secure environment. The room is designed so that each child is given the opportunity to reach his/her milestones effortlessly. In the Infant Room, we strive to give the opportunity for the child to have as many experiences as possible to fulfill their potential. Education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the child experiencing his/her environment. The child learns without knowing he is learning.
The infant is given ample opportunities to discover himself. The infant is given time to smile, to laugh, to move his/her arms and legs, to have “tummy time”. The infant is encouraged to develop his gross and fine motor skills by clasping, clutching, grabbing, rolling, standing and walking. The infant is also encouraged to practice making sounds and words on the road to developed speech.
The infant is cared for and cherished and given freedom to grow and learn naturally.
