Established more than thirty years ago, MCC has grown into Washington Metro area’s leading early childhood educator. MCC has constantly insisted on taking a holistic approach to delivering hands on pre-school education.

Every day I step into our school, I’m reminded why I love what I do. Working with children is not just a profession, it brings greatest and deep joy, purpose, and inspiration and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of their early journey. Working with children, reminds me every the wonder in learning, the power of kindness, and the importance of patience.
I have the privilege of watching young minds grow, explore, and discover the world in their own unique ways. Their curiosity, creativity, and resilience constantly amaze me.
At MCCH, I’ve found more than just a workplace. I’ve found a community that shares my passion for nurturing growth, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Our classrooms are full of discovery, laughter, and meaningful moments, and I cherish each one.

An amazing kindergarten Montessori Children’s Center in Herndon! They have a truly wonderful administration, especially Ms. Smitha Satish, and all of the teachers are very kind and attentive. The facilities and the fully loaded backyard are so great for kids and very safe, especially the lovely playground where the children have so much fun. Ming 260 days agoI love Montessori Children’s Center Herndon! We just moved to the U.S., so my 4-year-old son and I toured lots of preschools in the Herndon area. When my son first visited this preschool, he really loved the large playground. There are lots of playground equipment for the children, and they play outside every day. Playing outside is always one of the first things my son tells me about when I ask him about school. The classrooms are also very clean and well organized. The children wear indoor shoes and can choose the Montessori materials they want to work with by themselves. The teachers are very patient and always help when the children need support. The teachers are also very kind and thoughtful. Since we just moved to the U.S. from South Korea, my son only speaks Korean right now. The teachers have been very helpful in helping him adjust to preschool life. One of the Montessori 4 teachers, Ms. Salmah, even bought a Korean Words book for my son. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness and really appreciated it. I’m also very thankful to Ms. Manjeet and Ms. Shelby for warmly welcoming my son every day. There are also so many different programs and activities that help the children grow. My son really enjoys the variety of activities he does every day. The teachers share photos with us, and he brings home his work on Fridays, so my husband and I can see what he has been doing and how much he is growing. We are very happy with Montessori Children’s Center, and I highly recommend this preschool to parents who are looking for a clean, well-organized, and nurturing environment where their children can learn and grow independently, with warm and thoughtful teachers who truly care about each child.Posted on Google

Purva A139 days agoMCC has been part of our son’s life for over 3.5 years now. We researched a lot of schools in the area before enrolling him here and YES it was the best decision ! He has been a part of the MCC since he was just about 2 years old. The teachers right from baby and toddler classes to his current classes are just phenomenal ! As a mom of one child, leaving him with Miss Martha was a breeze. The toddler teachers are loving, attentive, curriculum oriented, creative and go above and beyond for the kids. The school director Miss Smitha is extremely focused on a balanced child development. The result - the school has very good events all around the year, keeping the kids interested and excited year round. They also make sure parent involvement and communication is perfect which makes my life as a toddler mom super easy. Their summer camps each year have been super organized, exciting and fun as well as stem focused. They are a nut free school with Food being balanced, non repetitive and interesting year round. After he turned 4+ his teachers Miss Salmah and Miss Manjeet focused on his overall development, his math and reading basics as well as art / science introductions and now when he is ready to join elementary he is able to do double digit additions and subtractions !! They create such a warm and nurturing environment where the kids feel safe, happy, and excited to learn every day. I’ve seen so much growth in my son, both academically and socially, and I know that’s because of the love and attention they give each child. We are so thankful to Ms. Salmah, Ms. Shelby and Ms. Manjeet for the love and care they provided to our son. The director Ms. Smitha has also been incredible to work with—always kind, responsive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the children and families. It’s clear that she puts her heart into making the school a positive and supportive place for everyone. We are only leaving because we’re moving—otherwise, we would never have considered changing. They treated him and us like family, and they helped raise our son to be a moral kid, with a great attitude that is kind to others. Beyond that, he is advanced now in his learning and knows two languages going into years old. I highly recommend this school to everyone! Marysa DeBlassie486 days agoMy child has attended the Infant and Toddler 1 programs at Montessori Children's Center-Herndon and our experience has been phenomenal! This is a nurturing environment where children grow in all aspects of their development. Beginning as infants, children participate in circle time each morning and are exposed to a variety of concepts. As children grow into toddlerhood, they are taught to care for their environment by cleaning their space and pushing in their chair as well as for the people around them by using “please” and “thank you” in their interactions. Gross and fine motor skills are worked on at each developmental stage starting with tummy time to using a writing utensil by toddlerhood. Children develop their language skills through music, offered once a week in English and once a week in Spanish. Classrooms are arranged for materials and activities to be accessed by children independently. Children are provided an opportunity to participate in educational activities of personal choice, following the Montessori approach. Every day my child has been at Montessori Children's Center Herndon, I have been confident they are in excellent hands and they are in an enriched learning environment!Posted on Google
Sulbigar Shanawaz496 days agoPost Covid it was very hard to find a preschool that cared for the little ones to my expectation. Many of the teachers kept shuffling in the preschool where my elder child went. My second child needed more care and attention and a continuity of teacher to assess and teach him to his needs with lots of patience. After many research I found Montessori Children Center to be the right fit for him. The teachers took great care for him which helped him settle better and make learning progress over the years. Anamika Pushkar498 days agoWe are so incredibly grateful for this Montessori preschool—it truly felt like a second home for our child. He enjoyed every aspect of his time there, from the rich educational curriculum to the wide range of co-curricular activities offered. In addition to the Montessori learning environment, the school provided Spanish classes as part of the curriculum, and offered optional activities like soccer, basketball, and even Bollywood dance—all of which added so much joy and variety to his experience.They also provided an amazing experience with the educational and fun filled field trips. Although our child missed the public school cut-off date (September 30), he was so well-prepared through the kindergarten curriculum here that he was confidently accepted into 1st grade in the public school system. That speaks volumes about the dedication and effectiveness of the teachers and the Montessori approach. The environment fostered self-directed learning, building confidence, independence, and curiosity in such a peaceful and supportive setting. The school also made learning joyful through well-organized celebrations like Thanksgiving, Halloween parades, Diwali, Father’s Day or Mother’s Day and many more all designed with a thoughtful educational purpose behind them. Ms Smitha is amazingly a wonderful person, very supportive, welcoming and has always a smile on her face. The teachers are the heart of the school—super kind, patient, caring, and genuinely attuned to nurturing each child’s individuality. Ms Salmah was his classroom teacher along with Ms Manjeet and Ms Shelby. We are so very thankful to each one of them which can’t be expressed in few words. Ms Salmah, you will be forever in our heart. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR EVERYTHING!!!It was amazing to watch our son grow both academically and personally, all while having fun. Mr. Capt513 days agoMCC was a great experience for my son, and I genuinely believe it helped set him up for long-term success. He was in Ms. Salmah’s class last year, where he was challenged in all the right ways and really thrived. My son is currently wrapping up his kindergarten year at a local public school. We had him evaluated late last year for academic competency, and he scored at 2nd grade equivalent level in both math and reading. Recently, we found out that the school’s Advanced Academic Committee reviewed his profile and determined that he qualifies for Advanced Differentiation (AAP Level II) services for next school year. The teachers and staff at MCC are thoughtful and intentional. The environment is safe and clean, and communication with parents is consistent and purposeful. The curriculum is strong, and kids are exposed to hands-on, engaging activities that spark curiosity and build confidence. There are a lot of Montessori programs in the area, but MCC delivers both quality and value. We were so happy with our experience that he’s going back this summer for camp (which is another hidden gem worth checking out)! MCC (Herndon) was a solid choice for our family, and I’d recommend it without hesitation to any parent looking for a school that prioritizes both academic growth and meaningful experiences.Posted on Google
Jamie Mendoza1630 days agoAs first time parents finding a school for our little one was an intimidating search. We really lucked out finding this school that is the perfect fit for our family. We feel like they have become part of our family ! We love this school for so many reasons. Our child thrives there and truly loves going to school. He is always happy to be dropped off in the morning and adores his teacher Ms Surma. I adore her too! She is so knowledgeable and expresses an interest in our lives - not just getting our son out of the classroom. The use of the brightwheel app is a huge win for us! We can easily see how our kiddos day is going and they send us the cutest pictures and videos of him everyday. Paying tuition through there is a breeze as well. It is very easy to get ahold of the school admins and their communication is top notch! As a side note, this school was more affordable than the other schools we toured, had smaller class sizes, better teacher retention rates and to be honest a better playground!!Posted on Google

In this crazy time, raising children in the Societal machine that is America in the 21st century and a pandemic on top of that, it is a tough, tough thing. The staff at Montessori Childrens Center (MCC) are not only there for the kids during the day, but 100% there for the FAMILY at all times. As parents trying to raise happy, healthy, strong willed boys, sometimes it can be hard. Different ages and phases make for new challenges navigating how to parent, and everyone at MCC has openly communicated and showed willingness, patience and understanding through these times. Teachers see our children more than we do as parents sometimes, so it is crucial to find the right place for children and family. We are so lucky and happy we found the “family” at MCC and look forward to continuing to watch our boys blossom and grow with their teachers and friends at MCC.Posted on Google

They engage the kids in the age appropriate activities. Ms Surma is very kind and patient with all the kids. Everyday she makes sure to tell me in detail of all the things my daughter did during the day. We sent both our kids to MCC and had good experience. MCC is a great school for anyone whos looking for friendly environment, focusing on good education from certified Montessori teachers and fun based activities. They are accredited, so they follow the protocols and meet standards to develop the kids ready for their next big step. The new management has made improvements like using the smart mobile apps that greatly helped us to know what kids have done today, the upcoming activities. The teachers and staff attention towards my every concern gave me so much relief and peace of mind. They made sure to share pics/ videos of her activities and she having her lunch. Iryna goula1876 days agoAs one of the parents of two daughters who went to this school several years ago, I have fond memories of this program and it's teachers, especially dear Salma. I am grateful that our girls not only learned great academic skills but also had fun, i.e., went on different field trips, had dance lessons, picnics outside, holiday events, etc. The Center always looks nice and welcoming g. It had convenient for the working parents hours and an after school program when kids started going to the kindergarden. I highly recommend this wonderful place!Posted on Google

I love this place, i deeply appreciate the staff being so nice and really cares about the children and works with the parents. I’m grateful for their hours and execution, facility opened for 10 hours really helps especially since not everyone works a 9-5 job. The facility is well thought of, rooms separated to keep the ages apart. My youngest son is happy and that makes me a happy parent. Not only are their prices extremely competitive, the administration of the school, and highly-experienced teachers provide a nurturing, kind, safe, and academic learning environment for the children so that they can thrive. The children are reading by age 4! If you are looking for an exceptional school for your child, make an appointment and visit the Montessori Children's Center and just watch the teachers and students engage. Gurpreet k Arora2694 days agoMy 5 year old twins started school last year and I cannot thank their class teachers and all other staff enough for their teaching skills, understanding, warmth, love and care they have shown. I have seen drastic improvement in their capabilities. School is a place where kids should feel they are safe and free to be themselves but at the same time there has to be discipline. I saw this balance in MCC. I feel lucky to have found this school for my kids. I highly recommend this school.Posted on Google

Started with our older daughter with their centreville branch and moved to Herndon when we moved to the area and she attended until she started elementary and now my younger one is with them. Ashwin Boini4032 days agoWe have had an excellent experience here as a family thus far. Both my kids (4 yrs & 2 yrs old) started in the toddler program when they were around 16 months. MCC provides an excellent preschool education. The teachers are caring and very attentive to the differing personalities of the students. The administration (Ms Farah & Ms Fatima) are passionate about providing a safe, nurturing environment for the children. Ms Anna, Ms Maria and Ms Salmah are our kids favorite and are wonderful teachers. They are very patient with kids and find innovative ways to keep them focused in class. MCC have regular field trips and other educational trips which gives kids different exposure. They also have good extra curricular activities in school such as ballet/art work/soccer and other summer activities. I highly recommend this preschool if you are looking for a good curriculum, proper care for your child, and warm atmosphere.Posted on Google
Anila Chowdhury4033 days agoI can't praise MCC enough. This one is located right across Floris Church and School on Centerville Road (near Frying Pan Farm). My eldest went there for 7 months only (Jan-July 2015) right before starting her Kindergarten and she was reading Grade 1 books. Before that she could put words together but nothing close to reading. She was doing double digit maths and knew many science/ geography/ history related things. They took kids to Cox Farms, Frying Pan farms, and Science Centers. They have a big play yard at the back and the kids are never unsupervised. They offer ballet, painting and soccer courses as well. During summer they had water slides, baking class, outdoor slides, field trips. This is one of the best pre-schools in the area. My 2nd kid just started going there and I will send my 3rd kid as well once she reaches 3 yrs. The administrators and teachers are friendly and very professional. With 3 kids under 5 I have experienced a lot of childcare centers and I am very happy with this one. Highly recommend!
