Established more than thirty years ago, MCC has grown into Washington Metro area’s leading early childhood educator. MCC has constantly insisted on taking a holistic approach to delivering hands on pre-school education.

At Montessori Children’s Center, Centreville, we believe that each child is unique and full of potential. Our approach, rooted in the Montessori philosophy, encourages independence, creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. We respect each child’s natural development and provide carefully prepared environments that support both academic growth and social-emotional development.

Ms. Farhana and Ms. Indu are excellent teachers who care deeply about children and are passionate about learning and healthy growth. We were attending a different daycare before, but after switching to a Montessori I could not believe how much my son was learning! He is about to go into Kindergarten and he already knows how to read, do addition, subtraction, and multiplication. He learns about science, has Spanish and music classes, and goes on different kinds of field trips. The school is very safe. Ms. Rama is a wonderful principal who takes parent comments and suggestions seriously and acts on them quickly. We love the diversity and how many different cultural holidays are celebrated throughout the year. Wonderful school with wonderful teachers and staff. Highly recommend.

They truly understand the Montessori philosophy and bring it to life with patience, creativity, and warmth. Our child has blossomed under their guidance, developing independence, curiosity, and a genuine love for learning.

🏫 Thoughtful School Management: The administrative team specifically Ms. Smitha runs the school with professionalism and care. Communication is always clear and timely, and they are incredibly responsive to questions or concerns. The school is well-organized, and it’s clear that every decision is made with the children’s best interests in mind.

🌱 Nurturing Environment: The classrooms are beautifully maintained, calm, and inviting—perfect for focused learning and exploration. The materials are always age-appropriate and encourage hands-on discovery. The outdoor play areas are safe and engaging, giving children the space to move, play, and connect with nature..

💖 A Place That Feels Like Family: Most importantly, the love and care the staff shows for each child is palpable. Our child feels safe, valued, and excited to go to school each day—and as parents, that means everything.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Post Covid it was very hard to find a preschool that cared for the little ones to my expectation. Many of the teachers kept shuffling in the preschool where my elder child went. My second child needed more care and attention and a continuity of teacher to assess and teach him to his needs with lots of patience. After many research I found Montessori Children Center to be the right fit for him. The teachers took great care for him which helped him settle better and make learning progress over the years.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was so hard to find child care in northern Virginia, even though we started looking while only 4 months pregnant! Everyone already had a waitlist. I was thrilled to find that MCC, only a mile from my home, had exactly the care I was hoping that for and would be available when we needed it!

My son started at only 3 months old, and I was glad to be allowed to spend the day with him and the teachers there before having to leave him alone. As a first time mom, I was grateful to his teachers (who had kids of their own) for advice and recommendations on creams, routines, and more!

Even though there are separate infant and toddler rooms, at the end of the day when I pick up my son they have them all together in the great room. I know my son’s motor development benefitted from watching the slightly older babies run and play!

I also love that it is a multi-lingual environment! On the days I got to hang around, I heard the teachers sing to the infants the names of colors in Spanish and English. I think that is so good for brain development!

My favorite thing though was that every holiday the teachers used his hand or foot print in a craft!! I thought I’d have to wait a few more years to hang his art around my house, so these projects are so special to me!

We are only leaving now because my job is taking us out of state. I wish my son could continue to grow at MCC, and take part in the extracurriculars and summer programs offered! We will certainly miss all his teachers who have become like family!

Both of my daughters have attended Montessori Children’s Center in Centreville—my oldest from age 3 through 6, and my youngest from infancy to present. We have been extremely happy with our experience and are so glad we chose this school.

The teachers truly meet children where they are and provide a safe, loving, and supportive environment. One thing that really stands out is the consistency—over the past five years, we have not experienced teacher turnover, which speaks volumes about the stability and quality of the program.

The school is very professionally run, with clear and consistent communication. The director regularly shares updates on logistics, and teachers keep parents informed about their child’s progress and development.

Academically, the program is very strong. Both of my children were more than prepared for kindergarten. The curriculum is also well-rounded and enriching—the school embraces different cultures and exposes children to a variety of subjects, including Spanish, yoga, and other engaging activities.

Overall, this has been a wonderful experience for our family, and I would highly recommend MCC to anyone looking for a nurturing and academically strong environment for their children.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can't praise MCC enough. This one is located right across Floris Church and School on Centerville Road (near Frying Pan Farm). My eldest went there for 7 months only (Jan-July 2015) right before starting her Kindergarten and she was reading Grade 1 books. Before that she could put words together but nothing close to reading. She was doing double digit maths and knew many science/ geography/ history related things. They took kids to Cox Farms, Frying Pan farms, and Science Centers. They have a big play yard at the back and the kids are never unsupervised. They offer ballet, painting and soccer courses as well. During summer they had water slides, baking class, outdoor slides, field trips.
This is one of the best pre-schools in the area. My 2nd kid just started going there and I will send my 3rd kid as well once she reaches 3 yrs. The administrators and teachers are friendly and very professional. With 3 kids under 5 I have experienced a lot of childcare centers and I am very happy with this one. Highly recommend!

The school is pretty "no frills," but don't let that fool you. They are all about providing a strong foundation. When we switched our kid from another daycare, he just thrived at this school!
And can we talk about their graduation ceremony? It was genuinely top-notch! The kids had learned several cultural songs and dances, and seeing them perform was just the best. It's the kind of place that really builds confidence and a love for learning.

We had both of our kids enrolled (the youngest starting when he was just 2) and couldn’t be more pleased with the love and care and attention they get from the amazing staff.
